Metairie, LA. (July 26) The 2012 NHRA racing season has been put on hold, for 2010 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Champion LE Tonglet.
Due to the lack of title sponsorship, and not having any more engines that currently run, LE and his family were left with no other choice, but to sit out the NHRA nationals in Sonoma, CA July 26-29 2012.
Sonoma is a great track, and I love racing there. It is also a place that we have come to look forward to seeing some really special fans, that provide us with just some of the best hospitality, and friendship we see all year long.
Besides the racing, I think that’s what we will all miss the most. “
Without any major cash infusion or a title sponsor LE may find himself sitting out Brainerd as well.
“We are hoping to get at least two of our engines back, and repaired by Brainerd,” Crew chief Gary Tonglet said, “but without a title sponsor, and the money that would bring,it is really going to be tuff to continue racing.
All we can hope for is that everything will somehow work itself out by the start of the countdown.”
So for now it looks like it will be sometime until LE Tonglet will hit the NHRA circuit again, but until then you can show your support for LE and his team by following him on Twitter @letonglet and we hope to see you at the races again soon.
